Cascadian consciousness has been restrained by the natural wish to
participate in the national structures. North South affinities and
economic interests have taken a back seat in the east - west media chains
and in the existing east west constitutional structures and
politics of the two countries.
Cascadian flora, fauna, rivers and inland sea and transport arteries know no such restraints and Cascadian natives perhaps
understand best the unnatural quality of lines on a map forged by European history.
